About the paintings
IRA HAS BECOME VERY WELL KNOWN FOR HER BEAUTIFUL, SENSUAL AND TENDER PAINTINGS OF WOMEN. SHE HAS AN AMAZING TECHNIQUE OF BRINGING THE WOMEN TO LIFE ON CANVAS SHOWING THEIR EROTIC BUT SOPHISTICATED CHARACTERS AT THE SAME TIME... SHE IS KNOWN FOR HER OUTSTANDING GRAPHIC SKILLS AND UNIQUE METHODS OF PAINTING.
IRA TSANTEKIDOU'S GRACE THE WALLS OF MANY A VILLA AROUND THE WORLD AND THE HALLS OF MANY A GALLERY.
SHE LIKES TO CALL HER PAINTINGS OF WOMEN "IMAGES OF WOMAN – LA FEMME FATALE" AS SHE FEELS THAT THEY SHOW WOMEN IN MANY OF THEIR DIFFERENT MOODS..
It is very rare to discover such a fine and educated artist such as Ira.
Her paintings have the most unusual technique and style that I have ever
come across. I am sure, that after one has viewed her paintings, the memory
of them will stay with one forever.
The artist pays a lot of attention to women and their female flirtations and
habits. They are always beautiful and ironic and you will notice that they
are always accompanied by either an animal or an object.
The use of different materials will make one feel the picture is more of a
sculpture than a painting. The reaction of light on the canvass often gives
the painting a very lifelike quality.
It is amazing how, with the use of earthy, warm metallic and gold colors,
the paintings become as romantic as they do interesting, giving an aura of
contentment and happiness, therefore making them possible to be displayed in
either an office or a lounge.

To write about Ira’s art can be very interesting but would take a long time and I am sure you will be far more interested in viewing the art itself rather than just reading about it.
Sometimes, in the game of life, we see things by chance, but after seeing this exotic and unusual style of art, one would rather say that it is not just luck but something so much more. Something that holds you within it’s embrace and then leaves you fighting for words.
After your interest has been arrested by these painting, you yourself will, I believe, start to feel the pull of the Mediterranean sun, and start to understand it’s many symbolic and ethnic elements..
Now I leave you to enjoy these paintings as I have and I say no more as, “pictures speak louder than words”.
